The Montclair Prep football team plays a 3:30 p.m. game today at Malibu High. Malibu is a first-year program playing a mostly junior varsity schedule.

Without this game, Montclair Prep would not have the eight varsity games required by the Southern Section for a free-lance team to qualify for the playoffs.

Mountie Coach George Giannini has convinced Malibu Coach and Athletic Director Rich Lawson to play the game under varsity conditions. That means the Sharks, who have a dozen 14-year old freshmen, seven sophomores and nine juniors, may use only those freshmen who have received clearance from a parent and personal physician.
