Tustin Sets Season Mark for Points While Beating Ocean View

Tustin set a school record for most points in a season after only eight games to highlight a 56-9 victory over Ocean View Friday in a Golden West League game at Huntington Beach High.

DeShaun Foster rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns in six carries and Brandon Lambert had 108 yards rushing and two touchdowns--one on a 33-yard run and another on a 65-yard interception return--to help give the Tillers (7-1, 2-1 in league) their school record.

Tustin, which has scored 56 or more points in four games this season, has scored 388 points this season, surpassing the old mark by 14 points, according to Tustin Coach Myron Miller.

“I thought we’d be a little flat after Servite,” said Miller, whose offense scored plenty in a 50-40 loss to the Friars last week.

But the offense kept rolling, scoring 21 points in the first quarter on 41-yard touchdown runs by Foster and Greg Carnal and Lambert’s 33-yard run.

Dominique DeGrammont scored the first of his two touchdowns on a five-yard run with 8 minutes 2 seconds left in the second quarter.

Lambert’s interception return for a touchdown came on Ocean View’s next possession.

The interception was the Tillers’ second of the game against Ocean View quarterback Jeff Taylor.

Ocean View (2-6, 1-2) scored just before halftime on a 37-yard field goal by Scott McMahan.

But Tustin made it 42-3 on its first play of the second half when Foster ran 64 yards.

Ocean View answered three minutes later on a 43-yard touchdown pass from Taylor to Curtis Ambrose. Tustin’s Josh Bailey blocked the Seahawks’ extra-point attempt.
