Esperanza, Senior; Volleyball/Outside Hitter
A nagging shoulder injury limited Sudduth’s effectiveness for much of the season, but recently she has come on strong. Saturday, she had 32 kills to lead the Aztecs to a five-game victory over second-seeded Dana Hills in a Division I-AA quarterfinal. She had 24 in a second-round sweep of Upland.

* El Modena, junior. Won her Division III heat at section prelims in 18:55, leading Vanguards to first place.
Eric Dedic/Volleyball/Outside Hitter
* Valencia, senior. Had 32 kills in a victory over Cypress and 19 in a victory over Laguna Hills in the Division II-A playoffs.
Ann Kozma and Melanie Orchard/Tennis/Doubles
* Brea Olinda, seniors. Won two of three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, in a 70-69 victory in games over Rim of the World in Division III playoffs.
