SEASON AT A GLANCE: McKinley had only 373 yards in six weeks before moving from fullback to tailback to replace injured Monte McKeon. He finished in spectacular fashion, rushing for 1,003 yards and averaging 7.7 yards per carry over the final four weeks. Attending Bowman, a continuation school as a junior, he dedicated himself to making it back to Canyon. He finished his senior year as the Foothill League’s leading rusher with 1,376 yards, 202 yards receiving, 12 touchdowns and 82 points.

McKinley scored on runs of 33, four, 13 and 12 yards. He capped the game with a 10-yard touchdown reception. He accounted for 341 of Canyon’s 461 offensive yards.
