Several girls’ volleyball teams from the region play championship matches today.

In the City Section 3-A Division, top-seeded Sylmar High faces second-seeded Canoga Park at 12:30 p.m. at Occidental College.

In Southern Section matches at Cypress College, top-seeded Westlake faces No. 2 Santa Margarita in Division II-A at 10:30 a.m., No. 1 Cornerstone Christian faces No. 2 Rio Hondo Prep in Division V-A at 11 a.m. and No. 3 Flintridge Sacred Heart faces No. 1 Marlborough in Division IV-AA at 6 p.m.

Other high school events in the region today include:

Cross-country: At 7:30 a.m., Southern Section championships at Mt. San Antonio College. At 10 a.m., City Section championships at Pierce College.

Water polo: Southern Section Division IV semifinals--At 3 p.m., Santa Barbara vs. Royal at Pepperdine; At 3:15, p.m., Agoura vs. Cabrillo at Cuesta College.

College events today include:

Men’s Basketball: At 7 p.m., Canyons at Antelope Valley; Valley at Victor Valley.

Women’s Basketball: At 6 p.m., Valley at Ventura. At 7:30 p.m., The Master’s at Occidental.

Swimming: At noon, Malibu Invitational at Pepperdine.

Women’s Volleyball: At 7 p.m., Big Sky Conference tournament at Cal State Northridge.

Water Polo: At 7 p.m., Pepperdine at Long Beach State.
