Truck Making Turn Hits, Kills Bicyclist
A tractor-trailer making a right turn collided with a 42-year-old bicyclist, who later died at a local hospital, police said Tuesday.
Kevin Austin of Orange was traveling north on Main Street near the east curb of Pomona Street about 6:30 p.m. Monday when a truck making a right turn onto Pomona Street struck him, Police Lt. Dave Petko said.
“The driver lost sight of Austin,” Petko said.
Austin died at UCI Medical Center in Orange several hours later, Petko said.
The driver was not cited pending further investigation.
