The Oilers’ strength is balance and Ciarelli made sure she spread the sets around so opponents weren’t able to key on anyone. She was in typical form Saturday with 50 assists and 11 digs in the Oilers’ three-game sweep of Napa in the Division II state final. “She definitely does a good job of mixing it up,” co-Coach Rocky Ciarelli said.

Faye DeVera and Katey Becker/Tennis/Doubles

* Villa Park. DeVera, a senior, and Becker, a junior, won the Southern Section doubles title beating a team from Calabasas, 7-6, 6-4.

Heather Green/Basketball/Guard

* Pacifica, senior. Scored 20 points in a 51-47 victory over Irvine in the title game of the Irvine tournament.

Whitney Houser/Basketball/Forward

* Laguna Hills, senior. Scored 21 points, making nine of 10 shots from the field, in 63-38 victory over Mater Dei in Woodbridge tournament.
