In the City of Palms boys’ basketball tournament:

Villa Park 72, Canton (Miss.) 55--Eric Chenowith scored 27 points and had 18 rebounds as fourth-ranked Villa Park (9-2) defeated Canton, the third-ranked team in Mississippi. Mike Vogeding had 14 points and Isaiah Cavaco had 14 assists.

Villa Park, which is 2-1 in the tournament in Florida, will face Fletcher today in the consolation championship.

In the Gary Raya Coed Classic:

Aliso Niguel 55, Fullerton 42--Oscar Gardner scored 15 points as Aliso Niguel defeated Fullerton to win the pool play. The Wolverines (7-3) play El Dorado in the championship tonight at 7:30.

Eddie Camadini had 13 points and Jeff Munsell had 12 points for Aliso Niguel.

Davi Brookman scored 13 points for the Indians (5-3).

In the La Costa Canyon Tournament:

Santa Margarita 65, Playa del Rey St. Bernard 54--Ryan Forehan-Kelly had 14 points in a semifinal victory over St. Bernard. T.J. Williams scored 13 points and had six assists for the Eagles (4-2).

Santa Margarita plays the winner of Poway-Rialto Eisenhower in the semifinals.

In the Murrieta Valley Tournament:

San Clemente 56, Upland 45--Samaj Johnson had 22 points and eight rebounds in a semifinal victory for San Clemente (6-1). The Tritons play in the championship final tonight at 7:30 against the winner of the Murrieta Valley-Pomona Garey game.

Jan Tatala had 18 points and 12 rebounds for San Clemente. Rick Saul scored 12 points for the Tritons.

In the semifinals of the Sonora Cage Classic:

Sonora 67, Westminster 59--Josh Lien scored 15 points and Jeffrey Berokoff and Jimmy Landry each had 14 to advance Sonora (8-0) to the championship game. Ben Jones led Sonora with 10 rebounds and 11 points.

Tustin 53, Whittier La Serna 47--Down 26-24 at halftime, Tustin (6-2) outscored La Serna (7-2) 17-5 in the third quarter and held off the Lancers’ rally in the fourth quarter to advance to the championship game against Sonora.

Rahiem Hobbs scored 14 points and Greg Carnal had 12 points for the Tillers. Lester DeRaad, Ryan Earl and Will Smith each had eight points. Robbie Leark led Whittier La Serna with 12 points and was eight for eight from the free-throw line. The Lancers made 13 of 17 free throws. In the consolation games:

Century 49, Long Beach Millikan 34--Century (5-4) used an 18-point fourth quarter to hold off Long Beach Millikan (3-5) in the fifth-place consolation semifinal game. Ricky Lopez scored 18 points, including four three-pointers, and Chris Lopez added 14 for Century. Juan Valdez, who scored 15 points, was the only player to score more than four points for Millikan.

El Toro 83, Loara 61--Fab Mendiola scored 25 points for El Toro in a consolation victory. Mark Wulfemeyer scored 23 points for the Chargers.

Loara’s Will Hall was ejected at halftime.

In the Troy tournament:

Troy 50, Pacifica 44--Jerry Inzunza scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds and six steals to advance Troy (5-4). Kevin Corby had 12 points for Troy, which will play Cypress in the championship today.

In nonleague boys’ basketball:

Servite 65, Esperanza 58--Steve Shea scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds in a nonleague victory for Servite (7-3). Dennis Wisco scored 18 points for the Friars.

Drew Gaulden scored 19 points for Esperanza (3-6).
