Malia, Metcalf Lead Simi Valley, 64-39

Shannon Malia had 17 points and Jensa Metcalf added 14 points and seven rebounds for Simi Valley in a 64-39 victory over Burbank on Saturday night in a pool play game of the Simi Valley tournament.

The Pioneers (6-2) held a 53-29 lead after three quarters and posted their second consecutive victory since a tough Marmonte League loss to Thousand Oaks earlier in the week.

Jamie Sturdivant added 13 points for Simi Valley.

Arisenh Harapeti scored 11 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Alemany 55, Burroughs 43--Kelli Kobayashi had 13 points and seven assists and Devan Zumwalt added 11 points and 20 rebounds for Alemany (6-2) in the championship game of the Burroughs tournament.

Kobayashi was selected most valuable player.

North Hollywood 58, Glendale 48--Markia Derby had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Lindsay Sotero-Higa added 13 points for the Huskies (8-2) in the third-place game of the Burroughs tournament.

Kennedy 53, Garfield 40--Coyles Scarbrough had 16 points for the Golden Cougars (9-2) in the fifth-place game of the East Los Angeles tournament.

Monia Calhoun had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Tammy Barber had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Kennedy.

Bell-Jeff 73, Hacienda Heights Wilson 36--Jaclyn Johnson had 24 points, 16 rebounds, eight blocks and six steals to lead Bell-Jeff in the first round of the La Puente tournament.

Laura Lonsford added 14 points for Bell-Jeff (7-1).

Harvard-Westlake 51, Montebello 33--Brooke Porter and Rolake Bamgbose each scored 11 points for the Wolverines (7-3) in a consolation game of the Arroyo tournament.

Nordhoff 47, Stevenson (Carmel) 37--Nell Becker had 19 points and Erin Barker added 18 for the Rangers (10-2) in a fifth-place semifinal at the Santa Barbara tournament.

Louisville 70, Sacred Heart of Jesus 50--Becky Witt’s 26 points and 13 rebounds led the Royals (7-2) at Louisville in a nonleague game.
