Gustavus Adolphus Beats Concordia in Overtime

Gustavus Adolphus easily handled Concordia in overtime to win, 91-82, in nonconference men’s basketball Saturday.
Concordia held a 40-36 halftime lead, but Gustavus Adolphus shot 58% from the field in the second half. In overtime, Gustavus Adolphus outscored Concordia, 17-8.
Concordia (4-6) was led by Greg O’Hagan with 22 points, on nine of 15 shooting from the field. Teammate Rick Haywood had 18 points.
Gustavus Adolphus (4-1) was led by Jason Quam, who had 23 points, including four three-pointers. Luke Schmidt had 20 points and 19 rebounds.
In the Occidental men’s basketball tournament:
Wisconsin La Crosse 71, Chapman 53--Chapman scored only 18 first-half points in the loss. Greg Evans led Chapman with 11 points and six rebounds. Derek Mitchell and Wayemon Powell each added 10 for Chapman (9-3). La Crosse (8-0) was led by Melvin Veasley with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Fresno State 64, CS Fullerton 55--Michele Anderson scored 17 points for Fresno State (7-3). Janee Young and Zanete Law each scored 12 points for the Bulldogs.
Justine McMahan scored 13 points and Kris Sigg scored 12 points for the Titans (5-4).
