Barlow’s Basket Lifts Moorpark

Moorpark College’s Jeff Barlow caught teammate Ben Tryk’s desperation miss and banked in a shot at the buzzer to give the Raiders a 65-64 victory over Hancock in a Western State Conference Northern Division men’s basketball game Saturday night at Hancock.
They were the only points scored by Barlow, a freshman from Simi Valley High. Moorpark improved to 12-11, 2-2 in division play.
Turnovers and missed free throws allowed Hancock (5-18, 0-4) back into the game, and the Bulldogs pulled in front, 64-63, for their only lead of the second half with five seconds remaining on two free throws by Keenan Anderson.
Scott Blough led Moorpark with 18 points.
