CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (8-12, 4-6) at EASTERN WASHINGTON
(6-15, 2-9). Time--7.
The Matadors have a chance to virtually eliminate one of the two teams they are battling for the sixth and final spot in the Big Sky tournament. A victory would give Northridge a sweep over Eastern Washington, and would put the Eagles one loss or one Northridge victory from mathematical elimination. The Matadors’ other challenger is Sacramento State (3-17, 2-8), which Northridge routed earlier in the season and faces again Feb. 22 at Sacramento. Gerald Rhoden (12.2 points per game) continues to lead Northridge in scoring, even though he doesn’t start. Eastern Washington should be tougher than when it lost, 77-66, at Northridge last month. Starting guard Michael Lewis sat out that game because of an injury but is expected to play tonight.
