SMALL FACES: The secret’s already out about the identity of x-sample, one half of the electronica-pop duo TDF--it’s Eric Clapton. Now the names of two other stars who make vocal appearances on “What She Wants,” the first single from the upcoming debut album, “Retail Therapy,” have been discovered. They’re Sheryl Crow, whose brief romance with Clapton recently ended, and Tony Rich, who returns the favor after Clapton played guitar on his upcoming second album. . . .

Producers of the movie “Hoodlum,” starring Laurence Fishburne and Vanessa Williams in a ‘30s gangster setting, are negotiating with rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard to do a version of Cab Calloway’s “Minnie the Moocher” for the soundtrack. Already offering period-flavored music for the collection, due in June, are the Wu-Tang Clan, Erykah Badu, LV, Chico DeBarge, SWV and Queen Latifah, who makes a cameo appearance in the film. . . .

A documentary is being finished about last summer’s two-day benefit in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for the Milarepa Fund’s campaign to free Tibet. The acts included the Smashing Pumpkins, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Beck and the Beastie Boys, whose Adam Yauch founded Milarepa. Among those shooting film footage were video director Spike Jonze and Roman Coppola. Another concert, this time on the East Coast, is in the planning stages for this summer. . . .

NBC-TV has picked a song for its next ad campaign promoting the Saturday night lineup of “Dark Skies,” “Pretender” and “The Profiler.” The tune this time, succeeding Fleming & John’s “I’m Not Afraid,” will be “Good and Evil” by porn-star-turned-techno-singer Traci Lords. . . .

Oops: Last week’s reference to the Fugees confused member Wyclef with another musician, who spells his name Whycliffe. . . . And while we’re at it, the Rhino Records trivia contest being held on April 27 is not two hours long, but just one--which, with 300 questions, means it will take a rate of one answer every 12 seconds to complete the test.
