The Masters Meet, which is the qualifying meet for the state finals in Stockton March 7-8, takes place on Saturday at Fountain Valley with the first round beginning at 9 a.m.

The meet--which features the top qualifiers from divisions I, II, III and IV of last week’s Southern Section individual championships--will send the top eight finishers from each weight class to Stockton.

In Division I, Calvary Chapel leads the division with 11 wrestlers, including defending state champions Joe Calavitta (135) and Ty Wilcox (160). Anaheim, Brea Olinda and San Clemente are next with each school fielding four wrestlers. Brethren Christian, which had three Division I individual champions, will join Brea Olinda with three wrestlers each. In Division II, Newport Harbor, Irvine, Marina, Fountain Valley and El Dorado will be sending the most wrestlers from the county. In Division III, Santa Ana will field five wrestlers and Troy will have three. In Division IV, Santiago will have three wrestlers competing.
