Summer Days Makes an Early Appearance

Spring will start blending into summer in the San Fernando Valley this week, with skies remaining clear and temperatures reaching the upper 80s by Wednesday.

Aside from low clouds and fog each day, there is no precipitation in the forecast.

“The march to boring weather has begun,” said Rob Krohn, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “It gets into dry, hot stuff in May. April is a transitional month.”

A high-pressure system has stalled over the Los Angeles area, so the week will start with highs in the low 80s and get steadily warmer, Krohn said. Lows will dip into the 50s.

Last week saw clouds but no rain. Since July 1 of last year, the Los Angeles area has had 12.39 inches of rain, compared to the 14.09 norm by this time of year.

In Burbank today, the high temperature is expected to be 80. Woodland Hills is forecast to hit 82.
