Women’s Streak Could End Friday

The incredible 118-dual meet winning streak of the Orange Coast women’s swimming team is in serious danger this Friday according to Coach Jon Rathfelder.
Rathfelder is either being amazingly honest or trying to fire up his athletes as they head into the Orange Empire Conference meet against Palomar and host Saddleback. All three teams are 5-0 in conference.
Orange Coast will be without diver Sandra Zubrin, who will be at a national meet. Zubrin is among the top divers in the state.

Moving on: Junior Rodriguez, a sophomore shortstop at Cypress, has signed with Texas Tech, Coach Scott Pickler said.
Rodriguez, who also considered Miami, is hitting .301 with 14 doubles and 30 runs batted in. Rodriguez is from Sonora High.
