JetHawk Bullpen Spoils Nice Debut
After touted right-hander Jeff Farnsworth pitched a solid six innings in his Lancaster JetHawk debut, reliever Joe Victery gave up four runs in the seventh inning of Sunday’s 5-3 loss to the San Bernardino Stampede.
Farnsworth, the Seattle Mariners’ second-round pick last June, gave up three hits and struck out eight without walking a batter. He left with the game tied, 1-1. San Bernardino broke the game open against Victery (1-1), scoring on a sacrifice fly, a wild pitch and Rolando Avila’s two-run single.
Yuni Kim hit his fifth home run and drove in all three runs for the JetHawks (8-10). Dusty Wathan and Chris Dean each had three hits for Lancaster.
The three-game series concludes at 7:15 tonight in San Bernardino.
