Short Course Swim Meet Begins Today in Irvine
The Southern Pacific Master’s Assn. Short Course Yard Swimming Championships begin today at Heritage Park Aquatic Complex in Irvine.
The 1,000- and the 1,650-yard freestyles will be contested today, with the first heat beginning at 10 a.m. The heat seedings are based on times and not age.
The Master’s Assn. has swimmers from the ages of 19 to over 90. In addition to novices, the organization also has collegiate and Olympic swimmers in its membership.
The meet continues this week with the sprint and middle-distance events beginning Saturday. Competition concludes next Sunday. Swimming on both days begins at 9 a.m.
