Stein Hits Three Out, Pitches In to Palmdale Split

Brian Stein had three home runs among his six hits and drove in six runs for Palmdale, which collected 26 hits in a District 20 doubleheader split with Antelope Valley South on Saturday at Antelope Valley College.
Palmdale won the second game, 14-4, in five innings due to the 10-run rule after falling in the first game, 10-9.
Stein (2-0) pitched the second game, allowing six hits while striking out one and walking one.
Alex Suarez drove in three runs in a six-for-nine performance that included a solo home run, a triple and a double in the two games for Palmdale (6-4). Manny Yanas added a grand slam in the first game and a two-run triple in the second.
Anthony Barton hit a home run, drove in two runs and scored three for Antelope Valley South in the opener.
Woodland Hills West 11, Van Nuys West 1--Mike Conn had two home runs and four RBIs in a game that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at El Camino Real High.
Nick Lombard added three hits and two RBIs for Woodland Hills West (8-2).
Woodland Hills East 19, West Hills 16--Woodland Hills East built a 17-8 lead in the first three innings, which took two hours, in a game at Chaminade High.
Travis Rutter and Jason Spector each hit two home runs for Woodland Hills East.
Jeff Spector had three hits and three RBIs, and Justin Wade doubled, tripled and drove in three runs for Woodland Hills East.
Verdugo Hills 8, San Fernando 5--Phil Onsaga had three hits and three RBIs for Verdugo Hills (4-3) at San Fernando High.
Danny Vega had two hits and two RBIs for San Fernando (1-8).
Granada Hills West 8, Central Valley 7--Alex Henriquez and Mike Miller hit two-run doubles in five-run fifth inning for Granada Hills West (3-6) at Granada Hills High.
Justin Sabitt had two hits and drove in two runs for Central Valley (7-2).
Valley North 8, Mission Hills 1--Mike Kunes pitched a two-hitter and struck out three for Valley North (7-1).
Studio City South 2, Van Nuys West 1--Chris Poole hit a one-out home run in the bottom of the 10th inning for Studio City South (2-6-1) at Campbell Hall.
Granada Hills East 6, North Hollywood East 3--Manny Bernal hit a two-run, go-ahead triple for Granada Hills East in the fifth at Kennedy High.
Jack Cassel hit a solo home run for Granada Hills East (5-4).
DISTRICT 16
Moorpark 9-12, Conejo 8-2--Justin Ames hit a run-scoring single in the seventh inning to win the opener at Moorpark College.
In the second game, Ryan Yoshiwara had three hits, three RBIs and scored three runs for Moorpark (4-6).
Royal 12-7, Ventura 9-2--Tony Ortega hit a grand slam in the seventh inning to win the opener and hit a solo home run in the second game.
Mike Beyer (3-0) allowed a one hit over five innings in the second game, striking out four and walking none for Royal (4-1).
