Ontario’s Northrup Has a Big Night In Handicap Main

Andy Northrup of Ontario won the handicap main during Saturday night’s weekly speedway motorcycle event at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Gary Hicks of Riverside finished second in the four-lap race, followed by Costa Mesa’s Bobby Schwartz.

In the four-lap scratch main, Hicks finished ahead of San Juan Capistrano’s Brad Oxley and Northrup, who was third.

Fountain Valley’s Dean Steele teamed with Dwayne King of Glendora to win the four-lap sidecar main, and Johnny Walker of Ontario took first in the five-lap support class main.
