Covina Northview (10-2) vs. Laguna Hills (11-1)

7 P.M. SATURDAY
MISSION VIEJO HIGH
Laguna Hills has had a relatively easy road to the semifinals, but the Hawks meet a more formidable opponent in Northview, which upset top-seeded Rancho Alamitos, 14-7, by holding Vaquero running back David Vickers to 70 yards in 21 carries. Northview will probably try to stuff Michael Jones at the line of scrimmage and force Laguna Hills to pass. If it succeeds, Tommy Banning will have to be better than his one-for-10 performance against Pacifica. The Hawks have been diversified on offense all season, but their season might end if they rely solely on Jones to win this game.
