El Molino and Ocean View were top-seeded in their regions before reaching the Division III state final. Although Ocean View is playing in its first state final, El Molino, which has won six consecutive North Coast Section championships, reached the 1992 Division III state final before losing to Ojai Nordhoff. Allen, a three-year starter at setter who has committed to Portland, leads the offense. The Seahawks won their first Southern Section title this season and have won 17 consecutive matches, the last being a five-game victory over La Jolla in the regional final.
