Man Booked in Attack on Girl at Park
A 28-year-old Costa Mesa man was arrested Friday on suspicion of grabbing and fondling an 11-year-old girl at TeWinkle Park, police said.
Thien Bao Diep was booked on suspicion of child molestation after the girl reported that a man had lunged at her from behind a bush, Lt. Ron Smith said.
The girl said her attacker fondled her before she managed to break free and run for help, Smith said. A short time later, Diep was arrested at the park in the 900 block of Arlington Drive without incident.
The suspect was held at the city jail on $50,000 bail.
