Wawrzynski Brothers Spark Los Alamitos Over Katella

Los Alamitos took one more step toward defending its Southern Section Division II boys’ water polo title by defeating Katella, 12-6, in the quarterfinals Wednesday at Los Alamitos.
Senior two-meter man Tyler Wawrzynski scored five goals and his younger brother, Trevor, had two in the Griffin victory. Jeremy Janton had four goals for Katella (19-9).
Top-seeded Los Alamitos (23-5) plays Laguna Beach Saturday in the semifinals. A site will be determined today.
In other Division II quarterfinal games:
La Habra 13, Servite 11 (OT)--Servite tied the score, 10-10, late in the fourth quarter, but La Habra (19-9) got overtime goals from Nathan Allard, Steve Salas and Jeremy Greenberg for the victory. La Habra plays Costa Mesa in the semifinals. Dane Jensen led Servite (17-11) with three goals.
Laguna Beach 8, Esperanza 4--Johnny Geiger scored three goals and David Cox and Spencer Dornin each scored two to help Laguna Beach (20-8) reach the semifinals. Esperanza ends the season 17-11.
In a Division VI quarterfinals:
Brea Olinda 15, Palos Verdes Chadwick 7--Matt Flesher had six goals and Corey Bush had four to lead Brea Olinda (19-10). The Wildcats play Chino Hills Ayala in the semifinals.
