You Can Throw Out the Records

Since Troy Starr became Taft High’s head football coach in 1992, no team has given the Toreadors more trouble than San Fernando, where Starr was defensive coordinator before moving to Taft.
“We know each other so well,” said San Fernando Coach Sean Blunt. “Parting ways was the best thing to do because it was time for Troy to have his own program. It adds to the competitiveness. You get a chance to match wits. I know how good a coach Troy is and he knows us. You want to match up against the best.”
Although the Tigers usually come into the game with an inferior record, they are at least able to throw a scare into Taft. At right are the results from the past five years.
