Mavericks Win Cal League Title

Stanton Cameron hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning on Friday night to give the High Desert Mavericks a 3-2 victory over the San Bernardino Stampede, completing a three-game sweep of the Stampede to win the California League Championship.
The Mavericks compiled a 6-0 record in postseason play, including a three-game sweep of the Lancaster JetHawks in the Valley Division finals.
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
Lancaster High running back Darsay Barnwell was back at practice Saturday after spending more than four hours Friday night at Lancaster Community Hospital.
Barnwell experienced numbness and spasms in his back after being tackled by a Victor Valley player.
