Both teams are coming off shutout victories--Sunny Hills beat Baldwin Park Sierra Vista, 32-0, and El Modena defeated Garden Grove, 28-0. El Modena has some versatility on offense, led by Williams and Garcia. Sunny Hills’ stingy defense returns eight starters, including defensive linemen Jason Heyward and Jeff Burton, from a unit that allowed fewer than nine points per game last season. “It will be a good test for us,” Sunny Hills Coach Tim Devaney said. If the Lancers’ offense, with first-year quarterback Jared Bruce, delivers some big plays, Sunny Hills should squeak by.
