Crescenta Valley Pulls a Surprise
Crescenta Valley High upset Bell Gardens, 14-7, on Tuesday in a boys’ water polo match at Crescenta Valley.
Justin Payne and Bryan Lang each scored three goals for the Falcons (6-1), who halted an 18-match winning streak by Bell Gardens (6-1), two-time defending Southern Section Division III champion.
Burroughs 20, Notre Dame 19--Ryan Rittmiller scored seven goals and Brian Carsten had six for the Indians (3-3) at Valley College.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Thousand Oaks 14, Westlake 4--Lyndsey Tadlock and Angela Chen swept six singles matches for the Lancers (3-3, 1-1) in a Marmonte League match at Thousand Oaks.
Calabasas 15, St. Bonaventure 3--Shervin Saedinia swept three sets at No. 1 singles at Calabasas. Saedinia is 24-0 for the Coyotes (7-1).
Simi Valley 11, Agoura 7--The Pioneers (4-1, 1-1) won eight of nine doubles sets in a Marmonte League match at Agoura.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Highland d. Burbank, 15-0, 19-17, 15-6--Keisha Stevens served 15 consecutive points for Highland (3-0) in the opening game at Burbank.
La Canada d. Saugus, 6-15, 15-6, 15-8, 16-14--Emily Dalbeck had 22 kills for the Spartans (3-0) at Saugus.
Notre Dame d. Van Nuys, 12-15, 15-12, 15-11, 15-12--Melanie Reyes had 13 kills, 15 digs and six aces for the Knights (1-2) at Van Nuys.
Royal d. Camarillo, 15-0, 15-4, 15-5--Sherisa Livingston had 10 kills for the Highlanders (4-0, 2-0) at Royal.
Village Christian d. Burroughs, 15-4, 15-4, 15-3--Errin Benesh had 12 kills for the Crusaders (1-2) at Village Christian.
