Mexico Returns to the Coliseum to Challenge Peru

Mexico’s national soccer team will return to the Coliseum next Wednesday. Mexico, playing here for the first time since defeating the United States before a crowd of 91,255 in February, will play Peru at 8 p.m. in a tune-up for World Cup play.

Peru will be Mexico’s last opponent in North America before a series of games in Europe.

With 6,941 other fans watching on closed-circuit television at the nearby Sports Arena, Mexico was supported by an overwhelmingly pro-Mexico crowd at the Coliseum in its 1-0 victory over the U.S. in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final on Feb. 16.
