Sign Ups Set for Youth Volleyball

Share

The U.S. Youth Volleyball League is currently registering children for its six-week fall session at Conejo Creek Park North in Thousand Oaks.

The program is designed to teach volleyball to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 in a low-pressure, supportive environment. The hope is that the program will enhance the youngsters’ physical condition and allow them to thrive in a team atmosphere.

“The social aspect of volleyball is fantastic for kids,” said Randy Sapoznik, the league’s executive director. “A lot of the kids who may be shy when they come in aren’t shy by the time they get out.”

The program is scheduled to begin Sept. 16, with registration underway through the end of the day. A $60 sign-up fee includes uniforms.

At the request of parents, sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m., with a couple of Tuesday sessions planned to avoid holidays. Conejo Creek Park North is at 1379 E. Janss Road behind the Thousand Oaks Library.

About 100 children are expected to participate in the league, which will include three age groups. For more information, call the league at (888) 988-7985.
