A long-term lease agreement for a 435,000-square-foot sports and entertainment complex was unanimously approved Tuesday night by the City Council. The agreement with the Glacier of Anaheim, a San Juan Capistrano company developing the project, is worth $37 million to the city of Anaheim over the next 30 years, said city spokesman Bret Colson. The Gotcha Glacier complex at Sportstown Anaheim will feature snowboarding, skiing and surfing. The $65-million complex will be built next to Edison International Field, where the Anaheim Angels play. Construction is expected to begin in April for a May 2000 opening.
