Fines and suspensions were levied Monday as a result of a melee that broke out during a boxing program Thursday night at the Reseda Country Club.

Middleweights Richard Gonzalez of San Fernando and Thomas Hinde of Los Angeles, whose scheduled four-round bout ended in a dual disqualification and a fracas involving cornermen and spectators, have been suspended by the state athletic commission pending a hearing Jan. 15 in Burbank.

The commission also suspended the fighters’ chief seconds, Cesar Lopez and Kevin Morgan, and fined each $500 for their involvement. The fighters’ purse also was withheld.
