Woman Assaulted While Walking Dog
A 43-year-old woman walking her dog in midtown Ventura early Wednesday was sexually assaulted by a man who dragged her to the property of a nearby auto repair business, police said.
The attempted rape occurred about 4:45 a.m. near Main and Coronado streets, said Ventura Police Sgt. Gary McCaskill.
The man fled when the woman started screaming, said McCaskill, adding that investigators have spoken with several witnesses.
The suspect is described as black, in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.
Police ask that anyone with any information call 339-4482.
