Fullerton 68, Golden West 64--Paola Flores made two free throws with 29 seconds left to give Fullerton the lead for good. Golden West (6-18, 1-8) surprised the Hornets and jumped to a 38-28 halftime lead.

Orange Coast 67, Cypress 55--Jennifer Ludwicki had 22 points, 16 rebounds and five assists to lead Orange Coast (18-9, 6-3).

Riverside 69, Saddleback 44--Irene Washburn scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds for Riverside (8-16, 2-7). Christina Carcich had 13 points for Saddleback (7-17, 1-8).

In Orange Empire Conference men’s basketball:

Cypress 89, Orange Coast 79--Towan Oliver scored 19 points as a reserve for Cypress (12-14, 3-6).

Fullerton 80, Golden West 64--Erick Ashe scored 21 points and Ben Sanders had 18 points, eight rebounds and five steals for Fullerton (18-7, 6-3).

Riverside 82, Saddleback 79--Danny Sampson scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds for Riverside (19-10, 5-4). Marshall Freeman had 27 points and 14 rebounds for Saddleback (10-15, 5-4).

Santa Ana 87, Irvine Valley 61--The visiting Dons (14-11, 6-3) made first place a crowded place with the victory. Irvine Valley (18-8, 6-3) is tied with Santa Ana and Fullerton with five games left.

Santa Ana trailed, 23-14, with 6:49 left in the first half, but outscored the Lasers, 17-6, in the rest of the half and kept the run going in the second half.

“The guys are just really playing well together,” Santa Ana Coach Dana Pagett said.

Lohnnie Tape had 17 of his game-high 26 in the second half and Jehovanny Barraza had 14 of his 16 in the second half for Santa Ana. Barraza also had 14 rebounds.
