* LONG BEACH STATE (8-12, 3-5) at CAL POLY SAN LUIS OBISPO (9-11, 2-6), 7:30 p.m., KPLS (830)--The 49ers will be challenged defensively by San Luis Obispo’s long-range game. Mike Wozniak is fourth in the Big West in scoring, averaging 19.7 points, and makes almost three three-point shots a game. Third guard Watende Favors, a freshman, made eight of 17 three-point shots and scored 33 points against Air Force. The Mustangs lead the Big West in scoring average at 83.5 points a game, but they give up 84.2. Last week, Long Beach was hammered at Boise State, 84-60, in a game in which the 49ers struggled with ballhandling, and by Pacific, 69-50, at the Pyramid, with offensive rebounding being a problem.
