Pendergast Helps Pace Pacifica Past Garden Grove, 46-27

Jaymee Pendergast scored 23 points to lead Pacifica to a 46-27 victory over Garden Grove in a Garden Grove League girls’ basketball game Friday at Pacifica.

Pendergast scored 10 points in the third quarter, as Pacifica (16-7, 10-0) took a 36-20 lead after leading by only one at the half. Pendergast added 10 rebounds and Tracy Downs had nine points and 14 rebounds.

Katie Werdel led Garden Grove (15-10, 7-3) with 14 points.

In another Garden Grove League game:

Santiago 51, Bolsa Grande 38--Sega Asiata scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds in a victory for Santiago. Stephanie Reupena had 16 points and seven assists for Santiago.

In the Express League:

Liberty Christian 58, Norwalk Pioneer Baptist 46--Crissy Davis had 14 points and 16 rebounds and Felicia Jao added 15 points and eight assists for Liberty Christian. Stephanie Wu scored 20 points, including nine in the third quarter for the Minutemen (14-5, 7-1). Erin Stephenson (22 points) led the Patriots (12-5, 5-4).

In the Freeway League:

No. 9 Troy 84, La Habra 25--Heidi Hardeman scored 24 points to lead first-place Troy (23-2, 8-0), which led after one quarter, 28-4.
