Championships in the Frontier, Marmonte, Mid-Valley and East Valley girls’ basketball leagues are on the line today, in the final games of the regular season.

The most intriguing matchup takes place in the Frontier League where Moorpark (20-3, 9-0 in league play) and Nordhoff (20-5, 8-1), ranked Nos. 6 and 7 in the region by The Times, meet tonight in Ojai at 6:30.

Moorpark, led by junior forward Damaris Hinojosa, downed Nordhoff, 71-69 in overtime, at Moorpark on Jan 23. The teams shared the title last season.

In the Marmonte League, Thousand Oaks (16-7, 11-2) plays at Newbury Park, hoping to claim a share of its third consecutive league title for retiring Coach Chuck Brown.

Royal (22-3, 11-2), playing at home, must defeat Simi Valley to forge a tie if Thousand Oaks wins.

Channel Islands (18-5, 9-4) has clinched third place, but Newbury Park (11-11, 6-7) and Simi Valley (12-11, 6-7) are battling for the fourth and final playoff spot from the eight-team league. If the teams finish in a tie, Simi Valley would advance based on the league’s tie-breaking system.

Grant (19-4, 8-1) and North Hollywood (22-2, 8-1) are tied for the Mid-Valley lead. North Hollywood, ranked No. 9 in the region, plays host to Monroe at 5 p.m. Grant plays at Van Nuys at 4 p.m.

In the East Valley League, Sylmar, Reseda, and Poly are in a three-way tie for the lead. Sylmar (9-9, 5-4) plays at Reseda (8-10, 5-4) at 4 p.m., with the winner claiming at least a share of the league title. Poly (7-11, 5-4) needs a victory at Canoga Park (0-15, 0-9) at 5 p.m. to forge a tie for the championship.
