Coaching change: Moorpark College Athletic Director John Keever said Thursday a selection committee has chosen a men’s soccer coach but the person will not be identified until the Ventura County Community College board grants approval on March 3.

A source close to the program said longtime Buena High boys’ Coach Sean Roche was picked by the committee.

He’s a Terrier: Crespi senior Bharat Sahgal has committed to Boston University.

Problem solved: The state Olympic Development Program tryouts for boys’ and girls’ soccer have been postponed until March 7 and 8 at a site to be determined, Bela Bircsak, a state administrator for the program, said Thursday.

The tryouts were rained out Feb. 7 and 8 and rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Bakersfield. That rescheduling conflicted with the first round of the Southern Section girls’ playoffs on Saturday.

FOOTBALL

Drafted: Former Canyon High defensive tackle Chuck Osborne and former Alemany wide receiver Richard Dice were selected in the NFL Europe draft. Both players were taken by Amsterdam. .

Airborne: The NFL Air-It-Out four-on-four flag football tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday at Pierce College in Woodland Hills.

More than 500 teams in various divisions will be competing each day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
