Goodrich Keeps Princeton on a Roll

Steve Goodrich had 19 points and nine rebounds and No. 9 Princeton established the best start in school history with a 77-55 victory over Harvard on Friday night at Princeton, N.J. In winning its 15th game in a row, Princeton, 22-1 overall and 10-0 in the Ivy League, surpassed the 1924-25 team that went 21-1 before losing its season finale.

Brian Miles scored 23 points as San Diego (13-12, 5-8) earned a 76-67 upset over Santa Clara in a West Coast Conference game at Santa Clara. The loss dropped Santa Clara (17-8, 8-5) in a second-place tie with Pepperdine. Gonzaga leads the WCC with a 9-4 conference mark. . . . Hakeem Ward scored 28 points as San Francisco (15-10, 6-7) earned a 109-83 WCC victory over visiting St. Mary’s (11-14, 6-7).

Michigan State point guard Mateen Cleaves, 20, and forward Andre Hutson, 19, will face stricter curfews and community service but no suspensions from the team in the wake of their arrests on alcohol charges, Coach Tom Izzo said.
