Montana State 86, Cal State Northridge 77--The Bobcats (11-3, 3-0) used the second-half scoring of guard Danny Sprinkle and crisp free-throw shooting to keep the Matadors (4-9, 0-3) winless in the Big Sky Conference before 718 at Northridge.
“Our team played extremely hard, but when Montana State elevated its game to a higher level in the second half, we did not elevate our game along with them,” Northridge Coach Bobby Braswell said.
It was the first home loss for Northridge after three victories.
Sprinkle scored 22 of his 27 points in the second half and Montana State made 20 of 24 free throws after intermission.
Mike O’Quinn led Northridge with 18 points.
