Dye was one of only two county wrestlers to win an individual title and he was named most valuable wrestler in the upper weights after winning the 175-pound class at the Five Counties Invitational, a meet featuring 64 teams held at Fountain Valley High. He defeated Vacaville’s Shane Clark, ranked third in the state, 13-8, in the final.

* Magnolia, senior. Totaled 54 points, 21 rebounds and 24 assists in two wins, including 79-70 victory over then third-ranked Brea Olinda.

Gonzalo Bonilla/Soccer

* El Toro, senior. Scored two goals in victory over then third-ranked Santa Margarita, 3-1, to help Chargers move into first place in league.

Duc Nguyen/Basketball

* Bolsa Grande, senior. Averaged 27 points and six assists in three victories. Scored 40 points in 82-70 victory over Rancho Alamitos.
