Sunny Weather Expected to Linger

Sunny skies, unseasonably warm temperatures and light breezes are expected through Friday, a weather forecaster said.

“It’s perfect golfing weather,” said Kevin Stenson, meteorologist at WeatherData Inc., which provides forecast information to The Times. “It’s going to be beautiful. Nice and warm.”

Stenson said the high-pressure system that brought last week’s warm and sunny weather will continue to dominate at least through the end of the week.

“There’s no storm system coming through in Southern California,” Stenson said.

Scattered high clouds and high temperatures in the upper-60s to upper-70s are expected in the Valley, with lows in the mid-40s to mid-50s, he said.

High temperatures will include 75 in Van Nuys, 74 in Woodland Hills and Burbank and 72 in Chatsworth. Lows are expected to be 51 in Van Nuys, 50 in Woodland Hills and Burbank and 49 in Chatsworth.

“It’s unseasonably warm but not unusual for Southern California,” Stenson said.

Tuesday will continue to be mostly sunny with few scattered high clouds. High temperatures will range from the upper-60s to upper-70s, with lows from the mid-40s to mid-50s.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be slightly cooler with highs in the mid-60s to mid-70s, while lows will continue to be in the mid-40s to mid-50s, Stenson said.
