NOW THEY CAN TELL
The Broncos said after the game that they had downplayed their chances of winning to lure the Packers into overconfidence.
“We had the perfect trap,” Bronco tight end Shannon Sharpe said. “We had a nice snare, we covered it up with some leaves.”
I’LL TAKE ED McCAFFREY TO BLOCK, PLEASE
Not only did Ed McCaffrey lead the Broncos with 45 receiving yards, he also threw a punishing block on Packer linebacker Brian Williams to help Howard Griffith pick up 23 yards during Denver’s drive for the winning touchdown.
“It was a passing play out in the flat to Howard and I caught [Williams] not looking and was able to get a little hit on him,” McCaffrey said, using a modest choice of adjectives to describe the play. “A little hit, caught him off guard a little bit. He’s a big, strong man, so I’m glad he didn’t see me coming.”
