Northridge’s Hagens Suspended for Season
The suspension of Cal State Northridge forward Brian Hagens, a junior transfer who made little impact in the seven games he played, will extend through the remainder of the season, Coach Bobby Braswell said Thursday.
Hagens’ suspension, which began Jan. 5, is primarily related to his academic performance, but he also missed curfew one night during a recent road trip.
Braswell said Hagens can return to the team next season providing he improves in the classroom.
Hagens, who transferred from New Orleans, will need to improve on the court as well. After becoming eligible in mid-December, he averaged only 3.1 points and 2.0 rebounds and committed a turnover every six minutes. He made nine of 21 field-goal attempts and one of six free throws.
