One teenager was shot Tuesday and another received minor injuries in a collision that resulted when the pair’s argument with two other young men in a parking structure at the Fox Hills Mall turned violent, police said.

The young men got into an argument about 1:30 p.m. in the food court inside the mall at 6000 Hannum Ave., said Lt. Ray Scheu of the Culver City Police Department.

The argument continued on the fourth level of the mall’s parking structure, where suspects in a cream-colored Oldsmobile or Pontiac opened fire at the victims’ car, Scheu said.

Scheu said the second car crashed into a wall in the melee. The 15-year-old driver suffered a grazing gunshot wound and the 19-year-old passenger was injured slightly when he struck his head in the collision.

The shooters, who fled, are being sought by police.

Scheu said the mall was not evacuated. He called violence there “extremely rare.”
