Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck by Jeep
A bicyclist who was struck by a Jeep on Monday morning in Huntington Beach died Tuesday at UCI Medical Center in Orange, authorities said.
Karen King, 46, of Westminster had been riding down Springdale Avenue at 9:45 a.m. Monday when she apparently dropped something in the road, said Lt. Gary Brooks of the Huntington Beach Police Department. King made a U-turn to retrieve the item and was hit by an oncoming Jeep Cherokee, police said.
The driver was not cited, police said.
