Prince was the lone Southern Californian to participate in the McDonald’s All-American basketball game Wednesday night in Norfolk, Va. He scored 10 points on five for 10 shooting, but his West team lost to the East, 128-112.

Prince, a 6-8 forward who will attend Kentucky, averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists this season and led Dominguez to the Southern Section II-A championship.

Prince, who also helped lead the Dons to the 1996 and 1997 Division II state titles, suffered a knee injury in the Southern Section II-A championship game against Redondo Union and played sparingly in the state tournament. The Dons were eliminated in the regional semifinals by Compton.

Prince was also named a second-team All-American by Parade Magazine.
