Wheildon Throws 6 Touchdown Passes

Jason Wheildon only played in the first half, but threw six touchdown passes and ran for one in Orange Lutheran’s 62-7 Olympic League victory over visiting Ontario Christian Friday night.

Orange Lutheran (8-1, 5-0) scored 34 points in the second quarter and opened up a 55-7 halftime lead.

Ryan Fuqua ran the second play from scrimmage 78 yards for the only score of the game for Ontario Christian (5-5, 1-4). Fuqua finished with 109 yards in 17 carries.

Wheildon found Jeff Renezier from 35 yards out to tie the score. The two hooked up again in the second quarter for a 58-yard touchdown as well. Renezier took over the second-half quarterback duties and completed all five attempts for 42 yards.

Wheildon completed eight of 11 passes for 247 yards.

Tim Fleming, who caught three Wheildon touchdown passes, had two interceptions, both leading to Orange Lutheran touchdowns.
