Westlake Infielder Howard Commits to Attend Miami

Kevin Howard, an infielder at Westlake High, committed Saturday to Miami, which has qualified for the College World Series 17 times since 1974.

Howard visited Miami unofficially in August while in Fort Lauderdale playing for Conejo Valley in the Big League World Series, and he took an official visit in October.

Howard was the most valuable player of the Big League World Series, helping Conejo Valley to the championship. He batted .366 as a Westlake junior and .512 as a sophomore.
