Cypress has lost in the third round of the playoffs the last three years and it seemed like a strong possibility again this season because the Centurions were taking on top-seeded Mater Dei Saturday in the Division II-AA playoffs. But Creager, a senior outside hitter, had a match-high 24 kills as Cypress won, 15-17, 11-15, 15-13, 15-9, 15-11. Creager had three key kills to help Cypress rally in the last game after being down, 7-1. Cypress plays at Cerritos Gahr tonight in the semifinal round.

She had the best time (18:03) by a county runner at the Southern Section prelims.
Priscilla Park/Golf; Foothill/Freshman
She had the low round (77) at the Southern Section Central Regional team tournament.
April Ross/Volleyball; Newport Harbor/Junior
She led the top-ranked Sailors in kills in three playoff victories.
